R. Eric Kennedy
Eric Kennedy passed the bar exam in 1980 and started his career at Weisman, Goldberg & Weisman the same year. Eric has been managing partner of the firm since 1996 and maintains an active practice in the areas of medical malpractice, product liability, automobile liability, security fraud and class actions. Eric has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America publication since 1989 and in 2000 was listed by the National Law Journal as one of the 10 best trial lawyers in the State of Ohio.
While most of his legal career has been devoted to the representation of individual clients, Eric sat on the National Settlement Committee in the Breast Implant litigation and was trial counsel in the Telectronics pacemaker litigation where over 20,000 cases were consolidated into a single federal court. He also served as class counsel in the $4.8 billion national diet drug settlement.
Eric has been a frequent lecturer throughout the state on topics relating to medical malpractice, product liability and general trial practice. He was a professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Law from 1982 through 1985. He is an invited member of the Celebrezze Inn of Court, International Academy of Trial Lawyers, American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Society of Barristers.
Additionally, Eric is the chairperson of a welfare-to-work, non-profit organization; has established a health care clinic at an inner city high school and is heading an endowment campaign for The Cleveland Bar Foundation.
